Problems Sending Newsletter via E-Mail
I sent out my initial batch of e-mails last night, and there were problems with my server. I tested it about 20 times over the past few days, and when I go to send out my e-mail, I get massive errors. So, I don't even know how many people actually received the e-mail. Here's what that e-mail looked like. And I re-sent it to some of the people, but it still was quirky. I didn't want people to have 2 or 3 copies of my e-mail in their inbox. So, I modified the software some more for future mailings, and I just let it go. I'm planning on sending an update at the end of the month anyway, so those who didn't get it will hear about this website for the first time, and those that got the first one will just have an updated version.
My First Sponsor: Thank you John Canavera!
So, I received my first online donation today! Thank you John Canavera! He's my former intern who is now a big internet guru at Clear Channel Entertainment. I hope others will follow his path. I think I'm getting stressed out about hitting the fundraising goal on time. I have to have half the amount by May 23rd. So, now I'm collecting mailing addresses for everyone and plan on sending those out this weekend. I finally finished the one-sheet for that. Here's what the mailer looks like.
The Run
So, the run today was tough. For one, I slept in because I really needed sleep being up all night dealing with e-mail server problems. So it was hotter, there were more people on the path, pollen was rampid, falling from trees most of the time, and I was carrying a lot of stress from work, since it was extremely busy today with Pope Benedict XVI being elected and all. So, I had a lot on my mind. The run was longer than yesterday, but not by much. And the weather was decent, since it was sunset most the time. I felt pains on my side from the moment I started running, and they were there most the run. It feels like the muscles in my lower legs are getting stronger. After the run, I walked for about 4 more miles, just to get my thoughts in order. I'm glad I had that time. My girlfriend, Lindsey, says not to stress out about the fundraising. Just let it go and to think about it two weeks from now. So, I'll get these mailers out this weekend and not think about it for a while. It's starting to get stressful.
| THOUGHTS: |
Stop stressing about fundraising. Concentrate on the running. |
