Long Drive in the Car
I helped Lindsey move to her apartment in Carbondale, Illinois last night, so I had a 2-hour morning drive before I ran this morning (and a 2-hour drive last night). I took off work because I'm taking my mom to see Channel 9's "Donnybrook" show live at the Sheldon tonight, and the reception starts at 5:30pm. She loves that show!
The Run
Today was a really relaxing run. I felt like I locked into my zone pretty easily. Nothing hurt. The shoes are fitting perfectly. I think it felt good because I had spent the whole morning driving, and my body needed a boost. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep either, because Lindsey and I were up late moving her in. I'm trying not to think about fundraising today, and I think it helped. I'm getting the list of addresses from my mom and brother today, hoping to send the mailers this weekend.
Marathon Book Reading
I read some of the marathon book on Tuesday night, and it mentions having a "but it doesn't matter" attitude. For instance, if I had a hard day at work, just add the phrase "but it doesn't matter" after it, and then it seems the stress just goes away. So, if it was hot or raining, just thinking that it doesn't matter really gets the pressure off your chest!
| THOUGHTS: |
I found a good steady zone today, and I wasn't exhausted at all. I'm trying not to pay too much attention to the watch during the run, because I looked down once, and after that I immediately started sprinting for no reason. Right now, time doesn't matter. |
