The Run
I had tons of energy today!  I don't really know why...maybe it was that sample of Xenadrine NRG I took earlier in the day...maybe it was eating a banana before the run...whatever it was, I felt great! Today was the first time I passed a RUNNER! And, I lapped a walker today! NICE! It's about 1.25 miles around the park, so I passed the walker during my second lap. I didn't know how fast I was running until I hit the 3-mile mark and checked the watch.  I raised my hands in joy with my best pace so far in training! I thought it would be tough today with the wind against me quite a bit, but not so!

Stop the Bouncing!
I read in the non-runner's marathon book that if I catch myself bouncing when I'm running, that indicates I'm wasting valuable energy going up instead of forward.  So, each time I felt I was lifting off my feet too much, I would just extend my legs further in front of me. I did bounce less and gained some time. But, by doing that, I was using different muscles and that wore me out faster. But I would recover after a few minutes and start bouncing again, and again, I would transfer the energy forward. I think I can train myself to do that and I will build endurance the more I catch it.

Oh yeah, about the flyers at work (from yesterday's blog)
We received our "FOX Facts Company Policy" book on Monday, and I read that employees are not to distribute or solicit personal things to other employees. (I guess Girl Scout Cookies are an unwritten exception.) There is a bulletin board next to the kitchen with flyers of furniture sellers and stuff like that.  So, I think it's best if I just put a flyer up there and one next to my cubicle.

THOUGHTS: By running in the evening, it allows me to sleep in longer, which I desperately need! It's tough getting out of the night owl scene, and so far, the afternoon run seems to help that. And I've dropped about 5 pounds in the last week or two, so between running and eating healthy, I'm getting back to a normal weight!
