Breaking in the Next Pair of Shoes
It's quite odd to bring in an old pair of shoes to a store and ask for the exact same pair. That's what I did at Fleet Feet today. I can't believe the difference in the shoes in just 4 short months. I really needed to get the new shoes bad.  They recommend getting at new pair at 400 miles, and I was already at 463.

The Run
Here we go again on my "short" 3-mile run.  Just when I get going, I have to stop. The new shoes felt great, but I still feel sore from last Saturday's run. My calf muscles are really hurting, and running on them today didn't make them any better. I'm hoping they recover quicker now that the new shoes are here. I noticed a difference right away with the new shoes. I noticed the gel pack underneath the ball of my feet was raised. I'm thinking the gel pack in the old shoes flattened out. I'll still wear the old shoes, just not for running. They still are quite comfy for walking, and they don't show a whole lot of wear like casual shoes do.

THOUGHTS: This heat is not bothering me one bit.  I hardly notice it now, after training in it for quite a few weeks now.  The new shoes helped give me some bounce.  I hope my calf muscles recover soon.
WHAT I'LL
REMEMBER MOST:
The bounce from the new shoes.
