Early Run Beats the Heat
I ran early this morning, since Lindsey was heading out of town early as well. I was at the park by 6:30am, and the weather was very cool. I enjoyed the 68°...it beats temps in the upper 80s!
The Run
Since Tuesday's run went so well with the interval training, I've decided to try it for two weeks and see if it increases my pace and helps me lose weight. My interval training consists of running for five minutes FASTER than normal, then taking a one-minute walk break in between. Tuesday, I was able to shave 3 minutes off a 6-mile run, so let's see how much I can take off this 4-miler. I was better adjusted to the routine today, but it's still tough. I was getting used to a steady easy pace, and now I'm trying to do different things, and it's hard to adjust to. For the most part, I am pushing myself to run faster in that 5-minute window, especially when I catch myself breathing without struggle. If I can breathe out of my nose, I'm not running fast enough! The run this morning was amazing. I increased my pace to under 10:00/mile, and I shaved nearly a minute off my time from Monday's 4-miler.
| THOUGHTS: |
Even though interval training is tougher, I'm liking the results so far. My pace is where I want to be. I'm hoping the extra energy I'm burning will help lose a little more weight, too. |
