The Run
Lindsey and I had measured out 3 miles last night with her car, since I had never trained by her apartment before. The route was two out-and-backs, which included running by her work at WSIL-TV and a stop sign later down the road. I didn't have any problems dealing with traffic, either. Only two cars passed me during the entire 3-miler. I didn't bring my MP3 player, because I wanted to be aware of the traffic, since I was running on the road.

I made breakfast for Lindsey, but didn't get a chance to eat anything before the run. I didn't think I needed to. I forgot to drink water as well. I just took off from her apartment without even thinking about it. I should have drank some water though. It would have helped. My legs stiffened up quite a bit when I finished, so I downed quite a bit of water and topped it off with a great breakfast. Since this was Memorial Day, I had the day off work, and this is the first time I've been able to run in the morning when it wasn't a big Saturday run.

THOUGHTS: I improved my pace, but was unprepared. I need to remember not to run on an empty stomach.
