The Run
Lindsey had met me after work, and we walked over to the park. While I run around it, she visited the zoo, since they have longer hours now for the summer. It wasn't too bad of a day. It always seems like my Tuesday runs are much better than the Monday runs.  I want to improve my pace, but I was used to the old mile markers at the park, so I'm still adjusting to the 5.65 miles around. I didn't need my water bottles until Mile 4, and then I drank one of them down pretty fast. I saved the other one for after the run.

Breathing Techniques
I was reading in my marathon book about how some marathoners breathe a 2-and-2 method, where they breathe out every two steps and breathe in every two steps. And since my side still hurts when I run too fast, I thought that maybe this would help control my diaphragm. Before I read this, I was breathing in out every two steps and breathing in every one. Well, this 2-and-2 technique is much harder than it seems, and I was only able to do it for about 3 or 4 minutes before I just gave up and breathed my normal way. I did notice my side not hurting as much, but I think that was because I was concentrating too much on my breathing and I most likely slowed down.

THOUGHTS: I hope I can keep up the breathing techniques.  I'm so glad I haven't missed a training date yet! YEY!  And so far, no bad weather. (knock on wood...)
