AUGUST 22: The only view we had of Mt. Denali. It's from our hotel window. (We were supposed to take a flight over the summit, but bad weather.)

AUGUST 22: Railroad tracks and the mountainside south on Highway 1 on the way to Whittier, Alaska.

AUGUST 22: The top of a mountain during sunrise along Highway 1. The fog was so thick! It looked like a crack in the sky.

AUGUST 22: Whittier, Alaska. This is where cruiseships and boats dock for trips on Prince William Sound (60 miles south of Anchorage).

AUGUST 22: The rookery/waterfall where pigeon guillemots swarm for three months out of the year. They made lots of noise!

AUGUST 22: We stopped by a fish hatchery. Look at all those fish flapping around!
